Asked about the Mass in the Roman rite, Cardinal Jaime Spengler of Porto Alegre, Brazil, said that “the river doesn’t flow backwards.” He spoke with VidaNuevaDigital.com on January 16. The cardinal is president of the bishops’ conferences of Brazil and Latin America (CELAM). His main statement echoes the historically weak ideas promoted by Cardinal Roche at the consistory on January 7-8. Cardinal Spengler said, “Throughout history, the liturgy has undergone various reforms. The Second Vatican Council represents an enormous effort to recover fundamental elements of Catholic liturgical celebration. Nostalgic proposals do not help to promote what the Council identified as essential for the liturgy.” Furthermore, Cardinal Spengler offered a pointless definition of the Eucharist: “Liturgy cannot be understood simply as an expression of religious practice; above all, it is a vigorous expression of a lived experience of faith, both personal and communal - an experience of encounter with …Күбрәк
Wisdom 1:7 “The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom.” Psalm 69:9 “The zeal for Your House consumes me, and the insults of those who insult You fall upon me.”
1) "Reforms", yes. but the N.O. is not a reform. It's a purge. It's an emptying out, a replacement, not quite a confection as implied by it's creators or adherents, but more like a conjuration, applied by those more self assured than confidant, more visionary than inciteful, more desparate than diciplined 2) "Recover fundamental elements". One could argue the point, but no, in practice: remove and replace fundamental elements. 3) Flow backwards? Then why seek to "recover"? 4) "a vigorous expression of a lived experience of faith, both personal and communal". This could take volumes and in fact has. In short, it may be all of these things, but is it the faith [that was recovered]? Or something else; and if so, what is this expression saying? And from where does it come? And what has it produced? I'm reminded of something... youtube.com/watch?v=B4M-54cEduo
A Patristic Homily on Christian Marriage Beloved brethren, God is not the author of confusion, but of peace. From the beginning He established order, and by order He preserves all things. When He created man and woman, He joined them before transgression, not in disorder, but in unity of life and purpose, in harmony of soul under God. There was no shame in the beginning, because there was no rebellion. The will was upright, and the body obedient. Thus it is written: “The two shall be one.” This oneness signifies unity and indissolubility, not indulgence. Therefore the Lord Himself later proclaimed: “What God hath joined together, let no man put asunder.” Divorce is strictly shunned, for it violates the order established by God from the beginning. After the transgression, however, man fell from obedience, and with that fall came disorder. Desire—which had no place before—now inclined the will. The flesh no longer obeyed the soul with ease. In this state of infirmity, marriage was …Күбрәк

MJTruthUltra @MJTruthUltra Trust the “Science” RFK JR - Many don’t realize, the Chickenpox Vaccine Causes shingles Epidemics “When the CDC was thinking about mandating the chickenpox vaccine for your children, they did a study. The person they hired to do that study was a scientist named Gary Goldman, who did a long-term study in California. What he found is that if you give the chickenpox vaccine, mass vaccinate, it stops chickenpox, but causes shingle epidemics later on; which is 20x deadlier. Despite those studies, we mandated for American children in this country, but in Europe they don’t. If you go to the British National Health Service website right now, you can read that it will say, “We do not recommend chickenpox vaccines because it causes shingles epidemics later on… and that’s the problem.
Unlike his beloved predecessor, Leo XIV will not carry out the Holy Thursday foot washing in a prison or with transgender participants, but at the Lateran Basilica. This has been confirmed by the schedule released by the Prefecture of the Papal Household. He will celebrate the Eucharist of the Lord’s Supper there in the evening, after the Chrism Eucharist at St Peter's in the morning.
As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, President Donald Trump has launched the “America Prays” initiative, calling the nation to recognize its dependence on God and return to its spiritual foundations. “When faith gets weaker, our country seems to get weaker. When faith gets stronger, our country gets stronger,” Trump said, emphasizing that America’s strength is inseparable from faith. The initiative encourages Americans to form prayer groups, pray daily for specific national issues, and unite across denominations and faith communities. It builds on Trump’s broader faith-focused agenda during his second term, including the establishment of the White House Faith Office, the Task Force on Anti-Christian Bias, and the Religious Liberty Commission. Cabinet meetings now begin with prayer, and the administration is urging citizens to extend that practice nationwide. Supporters such as Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins and Dr. Ben Carson describe the moment as “a time …Күбрәк

Citizens are living in Fear NYT Opinion column 'American Citizens Are Living in Fear'. MS NOW nytimes.com/2026/01/14/opinion/ice-citizens- … To the Editor: The last time I felt afraid of my own government was when I was 12 and watched news coverage of the Kent State shooting. I’ll never forget what it was like to listen to President Richard Nixon’s vitriol against those he deemed enemies of his view of America. Nothing has been as chilling, though, as seeing footage of an ICE agent shooting and killing Renee Good in Minneapolis. The current president clearly has no intention of representing all Americans. He sees the world as a Manichaean universe where either you support him or you are an enemy target. If my own government thinks I and others like me who don’t fall in line with the president are the enemy, how can I not be afraid? Poor us. Merri Rosenberg Ardsley, N.Y. Pope Leo XIV sent a written message to the Italian anti-Church newspaper La Repubblica to mark its 50th anniversary. It was founded by the atheist Eugenio Scalfari (1924–2022) and was Pope Francis’ house paper. Historically La Repubblica was one of Italy’s largest daily newspapers, with peak print circulation in the late 1990s and 2000s, average daily sales of about 500,000 copies. Comparative data show La Repubblica being among the biggest losers in print over a decade. Mid-2025 reporting suggested an average daily sale slipping below 100,000. The message of Leo XIV was addressed to the paper’s editor, Mario Orfeo, and was published by the newspaper. Leo XIV praised what he believes is “independent journalism”. Then, he managed to mix the words “journalism” and “integrity” in one sentence: “Even amid diversity of opinions, points of view, and cultures, the press must always act with transparency and integrity.” At least, Leo XIV doubled down on press freedom, calling it essential …Күбрәк

The number of deaths outpaced the number of births in France for the first time since the Second World War and ten years before the official French national statistics bureau had projected. Data published by the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) on Tuesday revealed that there were 651,000 deaths in 2025, an increase of 1.5 per cent over last year. The official statistician attributed this increase to a particularly deadly winter flu at the start of the year. However, this trend is likely to continue, with 2026 marking the first year in which members of the baby boom generation will have reached the age of 80 in France, the head of the demographic and social studies unit at INSEE, Sylvie Le Minez, said per Le Figaro. Meanwhile, there was a 2.1 per cent decline in births, with 645,000 babies being born in 2025. This marked the lowest level since 1942 and represented a 24 per cent drop since the last high in 2010. It means that for the first time since …
Jason Jones reports that Israel has approved an illegal settlement project that threatens Shepherd’s Field in Beit Sahour, revered as the site of Christ’s Nativity announcement. At least 19 Christian families have already been displaced, and the new development could sever Bethlehem’s Christian community from Jerusalem. Jones warns this may mark the final erasure of Christianity in the West Bank, exposing decades of church destruction and settler violence. He calls on Western Catholics to abandon silence, insisting they have the power, and duty, to stop this before it’s too late. He also mentioned something about Governor DeSantos. And it didn't sound good either. He decided to criminalize criticizing Israel. I didn't like that man. People fell for the bones he kept throwing as well. Now it's starting to come all out. Just like he said, he will catch and stop those who are spraying our skies and it only got worse "right after he said that"! BREAKING: Israel is about to TAKE OVER the …Күбрәк

I write today with a heavy heart about a personal faith-related discussion that I had yesterday with a local Vicar—the matter related to a material desecration that took place (of all days) on Christmas Day. A friend and I were both witnesses to it. While the incident was a misunderstanding, it was clearly and blatantly avoidable. Anyone with a discerning heart and mind could obviously see the circumstances that lent themselves to it. This same friend and I wrote a letter to the Vicar about it. We did receive an appointment to discuss the matter in person. However, by the end of the discussion, the vicar’s posture and message regarding the incident became clear. And, while not explicit, the general message was: “s#!t happens” For Catholics, the Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith. Everything else is a distant second. It was the equivalent of hearing from the doctor charged with caring for your father or mother that they fell down the stairs during their hospital stay……Күбрәк
