Archbishop Anthony Fisher of Sydney, Australia, wrote his pastoral letter on Corpus Christi on 3 June about adoration and liturgy. Main points: - Of the various physical postures, kneeling most clearly reveals our beliefs about God and our relationship with Him. - We are called to show reverence before receiving Holy Communion at Mass. - In most cases, this reverence is shown by bowing deeply; however, many people choose to receive Communion while kneeling. - This is a perfectly valid option envisaged in the current Missal. Kneeling was the standard way of receiving Holy Communion in the Latin Church for many centuries. - Altar benches, which are still present in many of our churches, serve as a reminder of this reverent tradition. - "I also I also ask our parish clergy to restore kneelers in every church where they are missing." Montse Alvarado: “I'm not married, but I am annulled in the church, and I think it's important to talk about that too, for people to realize that annulment brings you closer to the church and closer to Christ.” This is the new Prefect of the Vatican Dicastery for Communication in a video on March 10, 2025.
1 Kings 17:7-16 “The jar of flour shall not go empty, nor the jug of oil run dry.” This is a good image of God’s providence, but also of God’s grace and love, which continues to be poured upon us. Matthew 5:13-16 “You are the salt of the earth.” This refers to the flavor that salt gives. It is an image that Jesus conveys so that we may understand that the flavor of God’s grace is 100%. Leo XIV on war in Iran: "I think this has already been made very clear: the notion of a just war no longer applies. The problem is that just war theory developed in centuries when no one could have imagined the weapons we have today or humanity's capacity for destruction."
Today, Leo XIV touched on the concept of a just war. During the flight from Rome to Madrid, he told Franca Giansoldati that “there is no just war” in Iran. Leo XIV pointed to his encyclical “Magnifica Humanitas”, which says that just war theory is “now outdated. Today, he repeated: "I think this has already been made very clear: the notion of a just war no longer applies. The problem is that just war theory developed in centuries when no one could have imagined the weapons we have today or humanity's capacity for destruction." Leo XIV made “overcoming the theory of the ‘just war'” one of the themes of the June 26-27 summit of cardinals he convened at the Vatican. #newsUmthcgthhs
WHY DID JESUS CHOOSE BREAD AND WINE AS HIS BODY AND BLOOD? The night before He died, Jesus held two ordinary things in His hands. Bread. And wine. Not gold. Not precious jewels. Not something rare or extraordinary. Bread and wine. And then He said words that would change history forever: “This is My Body.” “This is My Blood.” But why? Why did the Son of God choose bread and wine? Why not something else? The answer reaches from Eden to Calvary… and from Calvary to every altar in the world. BECAUSE GOD OFTEN HIDES GREAT THINGS IN SIMPLE THINGS God has always loved to work through the ordinary. Moses held an ordinary staff. David carried an ordinary sling. The Jordan was an ordinary river. Yet God filled them with extraordinary power. And now, in the New Covenant, God takes the most common elements of human life and fills them with His very Presence. Because God does not despise the ordinary. He transforms it. BREAD IS THE FOOD OF LIFE For thousands of years, bread was the basic food of …More
God giving His Son is the greatest gift of His Mercy to mankind, yet we find humanity rejecting Him at every turn. What can YOU do without His Mercy? Can you walk under the sun and not be bother by its power? Can you stand in the rain and not be soaked? Yet you can say you can when you elect to disregard Him in every way, with your whinning and excuses, you buy into the believe that you are weak, when He has said: "everything is possible in Christ Who strengthens me"... Can't you see? We can be saints only and ONLY in Him. Excuses and more excuses, how can your soul not be bother by your constant flesh defiance to the Heavens? While you practice your favorite sin, angels, saints, Patriarchs, Holy Virgins and your family in Heaven looks away in disappointment, while our leadership claims you are weak, God told you 2000+ ago, that in Him you are not. God PROMISED He will be with us until the end, He has His angel with you to protect you, He gives you opportunities to NOT sin, yet we chose …More
