RATIONAL VERSION OF THE CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
III. THE CHURCH IS CATHOLIC
The Church and non-Christians

845
To reunite all his children, scattered and led astray by sin, the Father willed to call the whole of humanity together into his Son's Church. The Church is the place where humanity must rediscover its unity and salvation. The Church is "the world reconciled." She is that bark which "in the full sail of the Lord's cross, by the breath of the Holy Spirit, navigates safely in this world." According to another image dear to the Church Fathers, she is prefigured by Noah's ark, which alone saves from the flood.334

III. THE CHURCH IS CATHOLIC
"Outside the Church there is no salvation"

How are we to understand this affirmation, often repeated by the Church Fathers?335 Re-formulated positively, it means that all salvation comes from Christ the Head …More

A Vatican Dicastery secretary attended an interreligious ceremony featuring the Balinese idol Barong. On 5 September, Vatican representatives attended the Tri Hita Karana Universal Reflection Ceremony at Sunset Mandala, Bali. Part of Bali Harmony Encounter Week 2026, it was organized with Pope Francis-founded Scholas Occurrentes. Present were Msgr. Indunil Kankanamalage, Secretary of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue, Rev. Marcin Schmidt, and Scholas director Maria Paz, alongside Indonesian officials, Balinese royalty and representatives of different religions. Organizers said the evening was “anchored by an interfaith prayer” and included the Bumi Bajra troupe performing with a "Barong" from Ubud Palace, accompanied by “sacred rhythms.” Barong, a lion-like ceremonial figure, represents a supernatural protector in Balinese Hindu tradition and is closely associated with Balinese religious ritual and temple life.

Honoring Idol Barong in Bali: The Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue participated in a gathering in Indonesia organized by Scholas Occurrentes and United in Diversity.

OUT ON THE STREETS OF ROME LITERALLY BECAUSE OF VATICAN COUNCIL II AND THE CATECHISM INTERPRETED RATIONALLY

OUT ON THE STREETS OF ROME LITERALLY BECAUSE OF VATICAN COUNCIL II AND THE CATECHISM INTERPRETED RATIONALLY
I am out on the streets of Rome at night - literally, because I affirm the Catholic teaching, outside the Church there is no salvation. This is according to the Bible, Vatican Council II and the Catechism. The Missionaries of Charity brothers and sisters do the same.
Even The Mother Teresa priests and religious sisters a) affirm the Bible, Vatican Council II and the Catechism of Pope John Paul II and b) interpret LG 8, 14,16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 in Vatican Council II as being hypothetical and invisible cases in 2026. So our conclusion is the same. The Council is dogmatic ( AG 7/EENS) and ecclesiocentric ( AG 7 with no explicit exceptions in LG 8, 14,16 etc).

On 6 September, the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) was denied entry to the Basilica of Saint Francis in Assisi. The group had planned to conclude their annual pilgrimage with public prayer inside the basilica. Individual pilgrims were permitted to enter privately or in small groups. The group therefore remained outside and concluded their pilgrimage in the basilica square. Father Gabriele D’Avino, head of the FSSPX in Italy, drew a contrast between this decision and the interreligious gathering in Assisi on 27 October, for which representatives of different religions and Christian denominations are expected to attend the 40th anniversary of the 1986 World Day of Prayer for Peace.

"It is clear that such a concept of synodality is incompatible with Catholic ecclesiology." Card. Walter Brandmüller

Synodality Is Inspired by the Protestant Model - Cardinal Brandmüller

Cardinal Walter Brandmüller, 97, in a text published by Sandro Magister on September 8, writes about “synodality.” Main points:
- According to the classical Catholic understanding, a synod is a meeting of bishops for the purpose of exercising jointly their teaching and pastoral ministry.
- In 1965, Paul VI created the so-called Synod of Bishops as a consultative body of the pope.
- Recently established bodies whose members include, in addition to bishops, priests and lay faithful of both sexes cannot properly be called synods.
- Competent laypeople can, of course, be entrusted with a consultative role. But wherever such collaboration is practiced, one should carefully avoid any misleading use of the terms “synod,” “synodality,” and the like, and instead find a term that adequately expresses the actual situation.
- The establishment of such bodies arises from an effort to adopt secular structures and democratic procedures within the life of the Church.
- What is being proposed within the …More

A Christian of unknown denomination has become the patron of a new Catholic parish in Texas. Bishop Michael Olson of Fort Worth has announced the creation of a parish in Arlington named after Matthew Ayariga, a Ghanaian killed by ISIS in Libya in 2015. Ayariga was abducted alongside 20 Egyptian Coptic Christians. On February 15, 2015, ISIS executed all 21 men on a Libyan beach. According to accounts of the event, when Ayariga was asked about his faith, he replied, “Their God is my God.” The Coptic Orthodox group canonized all 21 victims shortly after their deaths. In 2023, Francis announced that the 21 martyrs would also be added to the Roman Martyrology.

Cardinal Burke told the harsh truth: what happened in Sodom is happening again. The days of Noah too. Only now it has laws, doctors, and a flag. Not “things are bad.” Not “culture is changing.” The same pattern. God looked at the world before the flood and saw people violating the way He made them. Male and female. Marriage. The body. The family. Burke named the modern version without flinching. Transgenderism. Surgeries that mutilate the body to match an idea. Sexual relationships that break the bond of marriage. Evil getting praised as if it were good. Human life is inviolable. Sex is for the union of man and woman and the family. God is to be worshiped in spirit and in truth.

Kiev plotted terror attack on UK ambassador in Moscow – FSB

The Ukrainian operation was intended to provoke a direct conflict between Russia and Britain, the security service has said Russian security operatives have foiled a Ukrainian plot to carry out a false-flag attack on the British ambassador and other diplomats in Moscow, which was intended to draw the UK into a direct conflict with Russia, the Federal Security Service (FSB) has said. In a statement on Thursday, the agency said it had detained a Russian national who worked for an organization contracted to protect the British Embassy in Moscow. The man collected sensitive information about embassy security on instructions from a Ukrainian contact, as well as personal data on diplomatic personnel, including photographs, home addresses, details of vehicles, and itineraries, the FSB said. “The Kiev regime planned to carry out sabotage and terrorist attacks against British diplomatic representatives in Moscow to subsequently blame Russia for them in order to draw the United Kingdom into direct …

Renzo Pegoraro, Leo XIV-appointed President of the Pontifical Academy for Life, has doubled down on his mad position on assisted suicide. Following his Avvenire interview, Monsignor Pegoraro told Corriere.it that Italy should pursue a national law, calling on political parties to press Parliament for legislation rather than leaving the issue to regional authorities. On the same day, his predecessor, Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, intervened in LaRepubblica.it, saying Parliament should “shoulder its responsibilities” and establish national rules. Archbishop Pegoraro also addressed a Trentino provincial council committee examining an assisted-suicide bill, where he again called for uniform national regulation. LaNuovaBq.it suggests the simultaneous interventions could point to coordinated Italian Church backing for a national assisted-suicide law, possibly involving Italian bishops’ president Cardinal Matteo Zuppi.

WHITE SMOKE 1958 -62- SUPPLEMENT

Epilogue:
In this short supplement, I will occasionally share some reflections inspired by the events of October 26, 1958. This will be interspersed, if necessary, with documents such as those posted previously, provided I find them serious enough to be published here, for, as I have already said, the internet is teeming with more or less eccentric publications that have no place here. The most glaring example is the outlandish account by a certain Malachi Martin, whom I mentioned at the beginning of my brief presentation: fumee-blanche-26-10-1958.blogspot.com/2025/12/fum…

No Mass in St. Peter’s: Roman Rite Pilgrimage Moves to St. Mary Major

The final programme for the annual Rome pilgrimage of the Traditional Roman Rite (23–25 October) has been announced.
However, there is a notable change this year: the pilgrims will enter St Peter's Basilica at 1 p.m. to pray, but there will be no Mass.
Instead, pilgrims will travel to the Basilica of St Mary Major, where Bishop Athanasius Schneider will celebrate Mass at 3 p.m.
On Friday evening, Bishop Schneider will preside over Pontifical Vespers at the Pantheon.
Unlike in previous years, no cardinal is scheduled to celebrate the principal liturgies.
On Sunday, the traditional Feast of Christ the King, Masses will be held at San Giovanni Battista dei Fiorentini, Santissima Trinità dei Pellegrini and Sant’Anna al Laterano.
The organisers have expressed their gratitude to Cardinal Rolandas Makrickas, Archpriest of St Mary Major, for welcoming the pilgrims.
