During the Nuit Blanche 2026 in Paris churches, there was, among other scandals, a human-like figure simulating masturbation. A widely shared online post featured a picture of Cardinal Sarah and quoted him as saying that a church is “not a concert hall or entertainment venue, but a place of worship reserved for God.” Speaking by phone to TribuneChrétienne.com on June 9, Cardinal Sarah said that he is currently preaching a retreat for priests and that he had not commented on 'Nuit Blanche'.
