Spaghetti Eating in Cathedral: Bishop Hermann Glettler of Innsbruck, Austria, hosted “Pasta for Everyone” in Innsbruck Cathedral on Sunday. Groups of 100 guests shared a meal during 30-minute sittings, allowing a total of 800 people to participate over four hours. According to Bishop Glettler, the event was designed to encourage people to “engage in conversation together—curious and attentive to another person, sharing a table with someone you did not choose.” Donations collected during the evening supported services for homeless people.

Dr. Mark was a world-renowned oncologist. One day, he boarded a flight to catch a major medical conference in another city, where he was scheduled to receive a prestigious lifetime achievement award for his groundbreaking cancer research. However, about an hour after takeoff, the plane experienced a mechanical emergency and was forced to make an unscheduled landing at a small regional airport.
Determined to make it to the event, Dr. Mark rented a car and hit the highway.
But shortly after he set off, the weather took a turn for the worst. A brutal storm rolled in, bringing torrential rain and heavy winds. The downpour was so intense that his phone lost its data connection, causing Google Maps to glitch. He took a wrong turn, missed his exit, and got completely turned around.
After two hours of driving in circles down dark, unfamiliar backroads, he realized he was hopelessly lost. Starving, exhausted, and running on fumes, he scanned the landscape for anywhere he could pull over. Finally …Mer

Masses Denied at Multiple Italian Shrines for FSSP

Rorate-Caeli.blogspot.com published on June 16 a report about a recent pilgrimage in Italy with a priest of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter (FSSP).
- This group was denied the celebration of Mass at the Shrine of San Giovanni Rotondo (Padre Pio) and instead celebrated Mass in a hotel basement.
- At the Basilica in Assisi, they were also denied permission to celebrate Mass in Latin, and they noted that an Orthodox Divine Liturgy was taking place at the same time.
- At Loreto, the group was initially denied permission to celebrate Mass, but the priest was finally able to convince the local authorities. However, in Loreto, there was a station for 'Dialogue and Listening' (pictured). Rather than a priest, a nun was 'listening' without a veil and wearing some kind of Roman collar.

Christian Nationalism’s Dark Forebears
nytimes.com/…/14/opinion/christian-nationalism-ma…

June 14, 2026 By David French
Opinion Columnist
I just finished an extraordinarily illuminating book. It’s not new — it was first published in 2001 — but if you follow the growth and influence of Christian nationalism in the United States, it feels fresh.
It’s by the British historian Julian Jackson, an expert on the French experience in World War II, and it’s called “France: The Dark Years, 1940-1944.” It’s about the regime that emerged after France’s catastrophic defeat in World War II. And as strange as this might sound, reading about the Vichy government is like reading a MAGA Christian fever dream. The nation that the Catholic Vichy nationalists constructed in the unoccupied portion of France is very much like the world that American Christian nationalists are trying to build.
If you read the words “Vichy France,” to the extent that they register at all, one word is likely to come to …Mer

Historic Cathedral, Now a Parish Church, Abused for Political Dinner: On June 12 and 13, a 'Heavenly Dinner' was held in St. Andrä’s former cathedral, the historic episcopal church of the now-defunct Diocese of Lavant in Austria. Today, the Cathedral serves as a parish church. Several local restaurateurs jointly prepared the dinner, while local politicians and other guests dined inside the church. Before the meal, a table prayer was recited. As host, Dean Fr. Gerfried Sitar welcomed the guests. During the evening, the clergyman was also awarded the Gold Plaque of the City of St. Andrä.

If You Don’t Know How to Respect, Stay Alone
If you are not willing to be faithful, honest, and respectful, then do not ask for someone’s heart. A relationship is not a prize to win or a title to wear—it is a commitment that requires loyalty, responsibility, and love.
The woman who stands beside you is not there to be taken for granted. She gives her time, her energy, her patience, and often parts of herself to help build a home filled with warmth, stability, and care. She wears many roles every day—caregiver, teacher, counselor, cook, supporter, and partner—often without recognition or applause.
Yet some people throw all of that away for a fleeting moment of attention, forgetting the value of the person who has stood beside them through every challenge and sacrifice.
Infidelity is not an accident. It is a choice. A choice that damages trust, wounds dignity, and shakes the very foundation of a relationship.
The pain it causes reaches far beyond the moment—it affects the person who …Mer

Bishop Appointed by Leo XIV Backs ‘Female Pope’ Campaign The Diocese of St. Gallen, Switzerland, launched its "I’m In" ("Ich bin dabei") campaign on May 4 across 25 towns and villages. The billboard, web and social media campaign features clergy, church employees and volunteers posing provocative questions. One poster shows a pastoral worker asking: “Shall we pave the way for the election of the first female Pope?” — followed by the campaign’s signature response: "I’m in." Pope Leo XIV appointed Monsignor Beat Grögli as Bishop of St. Gallen in May 2025, despite his publicly known support for the ordination of women

Leo XIV Calls for "New International Financial Framework"

Pope Leo XIV published today a video message for the climate World Summit in Vienna, Austria. He called for a "just transition" to new economic models, urged wealthy nations to provide greater financial support, and advocated the development of a new international financial framework. All this is presented within the façade and language of Catholic social teaching and care for creation and the poor. Three key quotes, emphasis added.
- "These challenges [peace, natural resources, climate change] require international cooperation, together with cohesive and forward-looking multilateralism in order to find effective solutions."
- "It is not merely desirable but also genuinely possible that the progress at COP30 [United Nations’ climate summit] can be followed up with a just transition toward societies where the common good takes precedence over profit, and economic models are rooted in solidarity and human dignity. Yet, this requires wealthier countries to meet their obligations to …Mer

11 Things to “Panic Buy” Before They Disappear - Ask a Prepper

There’s a difference between panic buying and smart buying. Panic buying is what happens in the first 48 hours of a crisis – empty shelves, fistfights over toilet paper, people loading carts with things they’ll never use.
Smart buying is what you do right now, before the news cycle triggers the herd. The items on this list aren’t random. They’re things that have historically vanished from store shelves fast, that are difficult or impossible to substitute once they’re gone, and that have real, practical value whether you’re riding out a short disruption or something that lasts months.
If even a few of these are missing from your stockpile, that’s worth fixing today.

Protestant Prayer and the Catholic Mass as “Different Pathways to God”: “Catholic” U.S. Vice President JD Vance appeared to relativize the Catholic Church and the Eucharist during a June 16 interview on Fox & Friends. Speaking about what he called the strength of “the American church,” Vance emphasized the diversity of [contradicting] Christian denominations: “You can't be an American Catholic or an American Pentecostal or an American Southern Baptist without running into someone who has a slightly different perspective on faith.” He added: “It's all about Jesus.” Vance sees "different ways" by which people find God: “Different ways, sometimes with 'snake handlers' [evangelicals in Kentucky], sometimes with speaking in tongues, sometimes with a beautiful Catholic mass, but I think all these pathways really matter and they're part of the reason why we do find our path to God.”

JD Vance: "One of the things I love about the American church is there are all of these different pathways to God ... sometimes with snake handlers, sometimes with speaking in tongues, sometimes with a beautiful Catholic mass. But I think all of these pathways really matter."

On Saturday, more than 1,000 Catholics took part in a Eucharistic Rosary procession through Derry in Northern Ireland. The procession was part of the first Worldwide Marian Procession, held in conjunction with around 400 parishes and 50 Marian shrines worldwide. The public prayer, which brought the streets to a standstill, was supported by Bishop Donal McKeown of Derry.

Public witness of faith draws crowds to Derry Marian procession

Catholics from all over Ireland gathered to pray in Derry on Saturday as part of the first Worldwide Marian Procession, held in conjunction with hundreds of parishes across the globe. With the support of Derry’s local ordinary, Bishop Donal McKeown, a full day of Marian and Eucharistic devotion was held in the Northern Irish city at the weekend.
Wending its way from the Catholic housing estate of “the Creggan” down through the city in the shadow of its many church spires, the procession saw Catholics take to the streets once more – but with peaceful prayer and joyful hymns.

Albania: From Soros to Blair—Dr Olsi Jazexhi (2018)

In the current outrage over boat people—very many of them Albanian—arriving on the south coast of England in dinghies with much official connivance, UK Column decided that it would be timely to remind the public of a May 2018 presentation given to a British audience at the late Ian R Crane's Alternative View conference by an Albanian academic, Dr Olsi Jazexhi, who works at universities in both Albania and Canada.
Dr Jazexhi makes a solid case that the culpability for the waves of desperate migrants leaving his Balkan homeland rests squarely with Western globalists, particularly Britain's own Tony Blair and the London School of Economics-trained George Soros—firm friends of the Edi Rama régime in Tirana—for rendering large parts of the country practically uninhabitable through economic despoiling and the carving-out of abysmally badly-operated fracking concessions.
Two years after this presentation, Rama's administration gave the country one of the world's most inhumane Covid …

"Devil" Beer Tap in Belgian Confessional: A deconsecrated church built in 1878 in Antwerp, Belgium, has served as a foyer for Theater Elckerlyc since 2025. One confessional now contains a token machine, while another has been fitted with a self-service Duvel 6.66% beer tap. "Duvel" is Dutch for "devil" and is also the name of a Belgian beer brand. An earlier report claimed the diocese had approved the concept, but the article was corrected on 10 June: the diocese says it was not involved in the redevelopment.

Devil installed in confessional with Church's blessing

Duvel - Flemish dialect word for Devil - beer vending machine in confessional in Antwerp: “The diocese even thought it was a good idea”
Antwerp “Is this really how we treat our ecclesiastical heritage?” Outrage has arisen on social media regarding two confessionals in the former Church of Our Lady of Grace on Frankrijklei, which has served as the foyer of Theater Elckerlyc since last year. You can no longer go there to confess your sins, but you can to buy tokens or tap a Duvel 6.66%.
Although both confessionals have been part of the foyer for more than a year, a new debate arose this week after a theatergoer shared a photo of the token vending machine in a confessional on Facebook. The person in question criticized the way religious heritage is being handled. The numerous responses show that the repurposing of ecclesiastical elements remains a sensitive subject for some people, even though the Church of Our Lady of Grace has been deconsecrated for quite some time and the building now …

Fake Abuse Claims - Chicago Archdiocese Can Continue Lawsuit

An Illinois judge ruled last week that the Archdiocese of Chicago may continue its lawsuit against a group of people accused of making false sexual abuse claims.
The lawsuit, filed in 2025, says that more than two dozen people took part in a plan to make false abuse accusations in order to receive money from settlement payments by the archdiocese.
According to court documents, the group allegedly recruited people to make claims, coached them on what to say, and shared the money received from settlements. The archdiocese says its investigation was helped by recorded prison phone calls in which the alleged scheme was discussed.
The recent ruling does not decide whether the allegations are true. It only rejects efforts to dismiss the case and allows the Archdiocese's lawsuit to continue.
The abuse claims involve former priest Daniel McCormack, who pleaded guilty in 2007 to several counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and has many confirmed victims.
Cardinal Blase Cupich said the Church …Mer

Canada’s PM Carney says ‘new world order’ is coming, will start with Europe - LifeSite

Tue Jun 16, 2026 - 1:38 pm EDTTue Jun 16, 2026 - 6:38 pm EDT
(
LifeSiteNews) — Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, while speaking before the start of the G7 summit, implied that no one country or institution could be left out of or defy a “new world order.”
“What one can’t do at this point in a rapidly shifting world order is to rely on one set of institutions, one grouping, one country to provide the answers,” Carney said to reporters on June 14, while in County Mayo, Ireland, on his way to the G7 summit in France, which is taking place from June 15 to 17.
While in Dublin, a day before his County Mayo remarks, Carney said that the G7 is where the “New World Order” begins.
“The new world order will be built starting with Europe,” he said. “Canada is the most European of non-European countries. We are transforming our cooperation with Europe.”
“It’s a recognition that the G7, if it ever did run the world, no longer runs the world or pretends to,” Carney said.

Cistercian Abbot: Vocations Decline Because We Became Tasteless Salt

In our time, authority is deeply discredited, both in society and in the Church, whether because of excess or deficiency. This was said by Father Francisco Rivera, 46, on June 14 in an interview with VidaNuevaDigital.com.
He was elected on May 20 as the new abbot of the Cistercian Monastery of Santa María de Huerta in Soria, Spain. It is one of Spain’s great monasteries and one of the most important historic houses of the Cistercian Order.
Father Rivera acknowledged that the number of vocations has declined drastically: “We can blame the world, its values or lack of them, young people, social media, and so on. But I believe consecrated life must also undertake a rigorous examination of conscience. Perhaps we have become a kind of tasteless salt. And we know what the Lord Jesus says in the Gospel about that.”
For the new abbot, the best vocation campaign is “to live, in our case, a serious and coherent monastic life, in fidelity to our monastic commitments and to the Rule of Saint …Mer
