The Vatican has accepted the appeal filed by the Benedictine monks of the Valle de los Caídos against the Spanish government’s planned “re-signification” of the monument, according to Spanish media. The move is being seen as a setback for the pro-homosexual Cardinal José Cobo of Madrid, whom critics accuse of having capitulated to the government during negotiations.
