He stressed that the Church continues to affirm “that the dignity of the person is not lost even after very serious crimes are committed.” In The City of God, Augustine of Hippo argues that legitimate public authority acting under just law may order death.

This is puzzling: If the Church now teaches that the death penalty is inadmissible because it attacks human dignity, this makes it sound like it is a "malum in se". But a malum in se is always evil and therefore never admissible, not even in times when there are no other means to safeguard the community. But then, the Church would have erred for centuries. So what's going on? Popesplainers to the rescue!
THE REVOLUTION OF THE ‘LITTLE WAY’: How St. Therese’s Childlike Trust Subverted Worldly Power I. INTRODUCTION: A “Little” Revolution in Holiness In the 2023 Apostolic Exhortation Petite Ingressus (“A Little Entry”) honoring St. Thérèse of Lisieux, Pope Francis celebrated the Carmelite saint’s “Little Way” as a prophetic upheaval of human ambition. Rather than lofty deeds, Thérèse taught that hundreds of tiny acts of love—offered in hiddenness—transform hearts and societies more radically than grand programs. This “revolution of smallness” was, in Francis’s words, dangerous to every empire of self‑importance, for it built the Kingdom of God on the subversive foundation of total trust and humble mercy. “Unless you become like children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” Matthew 18:3 II. The Little Way as Prophetic Reversal of Power Francis pointed out that worldly power often demands spectacle, influence, and hierarchy. St. Thérèse, by contrast, embraced spiritual …More
Acts 2:14-41 Baptism is the person's or many persons agreement to be in relationship with God. God is always in relationship with us. Do we accept being in relationship with God? 1 Peter 2:20b-25 Saint Peter says, "You have returned to the shepherd." Let us constantly return to our shepherd, the Lord Jesus, who is full of love for us. John 10:1-10 "I am the good shepherd," says the Lord; "I know I know mine and mine know me." But do we truly know the Lord? Let us welcome his joy and peace within us. Biblical texts: NAB-RE Normand Thomas.
Chicago Cardinal Blase Cupich said this week that he has worked closely with Pope Leo XIV for years and often draws on the pontiff’s language when speaking on political issues. Appearing on Father James Martin’s podcast, Cupich said his relationship with Leo dates back to 2014 and deepened through their shared service on the Dicastery for Bishops. “We have a very good history together working on important projects,” Cupich said, adding that both shared “a great devotion to Pope Francis.”
{YouTube CC-BY 4.0} Historian and broadcaster Rafe Heydel-Mankoo explains why the only hope of saving Britain is by electing a majority small “c” conservative government with a clear mandate to implement the strong policies required to save the nation. This can only be achieved if the right unite. A fractured right will never form a strong majority. Post navigation
The appeal of the Old Liturgy for young people lies in its focus and orientation on God, not on the community. We have so many rites in the Catholic Church. We should accept them for what they are: mere rites. We must infuse every rite with love and devotion; otherwise, it misses its mark. The Old and New Rites, as such, have nothing to do with whether we recognize the Council or not, or how we deal with its texts or reforms.
enya’s Court of Appeal ruled that abortion is not a constitutional right and is only legal in limited situations, such as when the mother’s life or health is at risk or in emergencies. The court said Kenya’s constitution protects life from conception and generally prohibits abortion except for those narrow exceptions. The ruling reverses a 2022 High Court decision that had broadened abortion access and restores criminal proceedings against an abortion provider in a 2019 case involving complications after a teen’s abortion. Supporters of abortion rights criticized the decision and plan to appeal to the Supreme Court, while pro-life groups and many Christians in Kenya praised it as protecting unborn life. Kenya remains socially conservative on abortion despite limited legal exceptions.
BREAKING: Kenya's Court of Appeal rules that abortion violates the child's right to life and overturns the decision of a rogue judge who had tried to legalise abortion! This is a HUGE win in one of Africa's biggest legal cases ever.

The last journey doesn't send a warning. It arrives without asking. Without preparation. Sometimes... it doesn't even give you a chance to say goodbye. You leave without an "I love you," Without a "Forgive me," Without that last, unspoken embrace. We spend our days obsessed with plans— Vacations, career goals, shopping lists, errands to run…But we rarely think about that other trip. The one that comes like a thief in the night, Grabs you by the hand—and takes you away. It doesn’t matter if you’re ready, If you’re wide awake or fast asleep, If you’re terrified, Or if you still have so much left to say. And it hurts. It hurts so much it’s hard to draw a breath. Because only then do we realize that we can't take anything with us. Not our things, not our titles... only the love we gave. Only the memories we left behind in the hearts of others. Sometimes we walk out the door in a rage, Slamming it behind us... Never thinking that it might be our very last "goodbye." Seeing so many people …More
Mocking the biblical Jesus Christ, the Marxist apostate Robert Prevost recited the *Regina Caeli* before an image of a black woman with a black baby on her back. Prevost celebrated a Marxist, inculturated "Mass" at the Malabo Stadium, before an image of a Black "Virgin" and a Black, Marxist "Baby Jesus." Equatorial Guinea. The Marxist Prevost—while promoting a false Black Christ—has the cynicism to proclaim himself the successor of Peter. Note that Prevost also failed to denounce the Islamization through which the impostor Muhammad de-Christianized Africa—and, by means of the sword, compelled many to apostatize and worship the false god Allah. Black Lives Matter activist calls for …
It is also necessary to clarify that there is no apparition in Africa depicting a Black woman carrying the Baby Jesus on her back. Yet, it turns out that modernist heretics now take the liberty of fabricating statues with Marxist messages at their whim.
Prevost no puso un pie en Nigeria para defender a los católicos perseguidos y masacrados por los musulmanes. Su "misericordia" es selectiva y relativa. Hipócrita!
Stop Using the Pope as Your Political Shield: Catholic Social Teachings is Not Your Ideological Playground This post is about an activist student from the Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. She has been arguing certain issues involving the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and then, all of a sudden, she mentioned Pope Francis to support her political views. “Babangon sa hukay si Pope Francis sa mga ginagawa niyo!” Stop dragging the Pope’s name into everything like he’s some kind of political mascot for whatever narrative you’re trying to push. This issue? It’s not about him at all. You don’t get to name-drop the Pope just to give your argument fake moral weight. That’s not how the Church works. Second, let’s get something very clear because a lot of people seem confused or just straight-up ignoring it. The Catholic Church explicitly condemns communism. Not “kind of,” not “depending on the vibe,” but clearly and repeatedly. Look at Pius XI, Pius XII …More
@chris griffin The One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church has blessed and approved the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima. I disagree it is "fair and just," "all Catholics should ignore Fatima." Our Lady of Fatima said "only I can help you." If we had done what Our Lady of Fatima asked there would be no abortion today plain and simple. I think your position in opposition to Our Lady of Fatima only continues the "Errors of Russia," and abortion is one of those "Errors." God bless you!
Pope Leo XIV offered more insight into where he stands on LGBT issues, telling reporters on his flight back to Rome from Equatorial Guinea that he plans to emphasize “issues of justice, equality and freedom” rather than “sexual matters.” A reporter asked Leo, who spent the last 11 days touring North and Central Africa, his thoughts about the decision of Cardinal Reinhard Marx of Munich-Freising to issue in his diocese a guide for blessings of people in relationships outside of sacramental marriage, which includes same-sex couples. . . . . In a book-length interview made public last year, Leo said that LGBT issues had been “on the back of my mind,” as he wanted to promote issues that were less polarizing. “For now, because of what I’ve already tried to demonstrate and live out in terms of my understanding of being pope at this time in history, I’m trying not to continue to polarize or promote polarization in the church,” he told Crux journalist Elise Ann Allen. Last September, …
Ballroom BLOCKED MeidasTouch host Ben Meiselas and Talking Feds host Harry Litman report on Trump’s late night meltdown against a federal judge who once again blocked his unlawful construction of the White House golden ballroom. Subscribe: @TalkingFeds Visit Meidas+ | MeidasTouch Network | Substack for more! It's not unusual for political leaders to repeat themselves publicly. Repetition reinforces ideas and keeps messaging consistent. But there's one topic President Trump can't seem to shake: his plans for a 90,000-square-foot, $400 million privately-funded White House ballroom. A Washington Post analysis (1) found Trump has referenced the ballroom on roughly one-third of the days this year in public remarks or social media posts. That pace puts the project on par with, or in some cases ahead of, mentions of major issues such as healthcare affordability and prescription drug pricing.
Padre Pio Saw the One Sin Disguised as a Virtue Padre Pio Saw the One Sin Disguised as a Virtue A respected Italian doctor traveled to San Giovanni Rotondo in 1947 to confess to Padre Pio. He had spent his life helping the sick, donating to the church, and living what everyone around him considered an exemplary Catholic life. He expected absolution in minutes. Instead Padre Pio refused him. Not once. Not twice. Three times over three consecutive days. What had Padre Pio detected in this man that no one else could see?
Star S. @DominguezH31015 SHOCKING: Mother Miriam Drops Truth Bombs on the Pope & Vatican! “False prophets” now have an official prayer room inside the Vatican Library — so Muslims can pray to their false god on sacred ground. Mother Miriam is speaking out with righteous fire: This is a grave scandal and betrayal of the Catholic Faith. How on earth do you allow this inside the heart of the Church?! Christ is King. The First Commandment still matters. You don’t honor the true Faith by giving equal space to falsehood. Wake up, Catholics. This interfaith “openness” is going too far. Who else is tired of watching the Vatican bend over backwards?
A brave & courageous Nun! ~ While you are at it Sr. Miriam please explain a little of the history of WHY the Vatican built those huge walls in the first place?
World’s oldest nun, Sr. Francis celebrates 113th Birthday | Shalom World News At 113, Sister Francis Dominici Piscatella continues to inspire generations with a life defined by faith, perseverance, and service. The Long Island nun, recognized as the world’s oldest living sister, celebrated her birthday on April 20 with a modest gathering at the convent of the Sisters of St. Dominic in Amityville, New York. Born in Central Islip, Sister Francis entered religious life in 1931 at just 17 years old. She earned the distinction of the world’s oldest nun in 2025 when Sr. Inah Canabarro Lucas, an older nun in Brazil, died at the age of 116. Over the course of her lifetime, she has witnessed the leadership of ten popes, including receiving a special proclamation from Pope Leo as part of her birthday celebration. Despite losing her left forearm in a childhood accident and initially facing rejection from religious orders, she remained determined to pursue her vocation. Sister Francis devoted 52…More
