Leo XIV-appointed Missio President doubles down: Women called to priesthood.
Pope Leo XIV appointed Irish Sister Mary Teresa Barron on October 8, as president of the Pontifical Mission Societies (Missio) and adjunct secretary of the Vatican's Dicastery for Evangelization.
On October 19, she told EWTNNews.com: “Who am I to say whether the door is open or closed to women priests?”
“Women today may hear the call to priesthood,” she said. “So for me, itʼs how do we within Church facilitate that discernment?”
Sister Barron wants the Church to accompany women who feel "called to the priesthood", “What do we do as a Church to accompany that discernment to see if, yes, this is what the Spirit is calling the entire Church to or not at this point?” she asked.
Barron cited the October 2024 Synod on Synodality's final document: “What comes from the Holy Spirit cannot be stopped.”
“So I think even though … there have been moments where we’ve been told we canʼt talk about this at all, itʼs over … it …More

Napa Institute co-founder Tim Busch and his wife Steph have, since late 2023, hosted more than 15 “salon dinners” in their Manhattan apartment overlooking the Freedom Tower and in Orange County with Fr. James Martin, SJ, as their special guest. Each gathering of 12 to 14 guests begins with Mass in the apartment chapel, continues with the Rosary before a Marian shrine, and ends with a Mediterranean dinner prepared by a French chef and served with Busch’s Trinitas Cellars wine, including a Cabernet named “Francis” after Pope Francis.
Fr. James Martin himself suggested the format in which each person shares a favorite Bible verse and a personal story of faith. Busch has said the goal is not debate but friendship; the evenings have been “very touching,” sometimes bringing tears. Martin has publicly called the model a way “to bridge divides and build greater unity” and has helped invite progressive guests, including America Magazine staff.

A Spanish bishop appointed by Pope Leo XIV told a gathering of so-called “LGBT Christians” in Chipiona, Spain, “You have much to offer the Church,” adding, “at the same time, you can be enriched within it.”

Leo XIV-appointed Spanish Bishop José Antonio Satué sent a supportive message to the 15th gathering of homosexual Christians in Chipiona, Spain, on October 9–11: “You have much to contribute to the Church.”
Leo XIV appointed Satué Bishop of Málaga in June 2025 despite his public record as homosexualist. Satué described homosex "blessings" as “a step forward”.
The homosex gathering, organized by PADIS Canarias (Pastoral para la Diversidad Sexual en Canarias), attracted just over 100 participants.
Monsignor Satué wrote them that everyone deserves to be heard, welcomed, and treated with dignity. He claimed that homosexuals suffered within the Church and urged that it not be trivialized.
At the meeting, participants agreed to establish a nationwide network of homosexual Christian groups, extending into Portugal. They also intend to prepare a document outlining their proposals for bishops, possibly by the end of 2026. They called for pastoral ministry developed “with” homosexuals rather than …More

When Fr Bijoy Joseph was growing up, Eucharistic processions simply weren’t part of parish life. “It was something that wasn’t exactly in fashion in our parishes,” he said.
That changed when he entered the seminary and served at Walk with Christ, the Archdiocese of Sydney’s annual Eucharistic procession through the city.
Now appointed the Director of Liturgy for the International Eucharistic Congress, Fr Bijoy now walks close to the Blessed Sacrament and sees the crowd from the front.
“You’re seeing this immense mass of people walking behind our Lord and trying to walk with him,” he said. “It’s quite a moving experience. Quite a witness to the faith in our public sphere.”
One image stays with him: “the wave coming towards you of Catholics, singing hymns, praying the rosary,” he said. “It’s magnificent, and they fill the streets in witness to Christ.”
This year that wave moves to a new day. Walk with Christ will be held on Sunday 22 November, the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King …More

The controversial footnote in Amoris Laetitia is like an “atomic bomb” planted beneath Church teaching, according to Catholic philosopher Josef Seifert - an assessment endorsed by Paweł Lisicki, editor-in-chief of Poland’s Do Rzeczy, on PCh24TV on October 19.
Discussing the document’s 10th anniversary conference in Rome, Lisicki argued that its approach to individual conscience leaves virtually no moral boundaries.
“The Church is following the world,” Lisick warned, asking sarcastically: “If the world is moving toward accepting the idea that the family is, in effect, a human herd, why shouldn’t the Church follow?”
Lisicki cautioned that polygamy is not currently being introduced into the Church, but warned that radical proposals can begin as isolated voices, gradually become accepted opinions and eventually be imposed on others.

Leo XIV accepted black cross in France.
On September 25, Pope Leo XIV received a black cross by French contemporary artist Lydie Arickx during his visit to President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris.
The cross is made from magnetic ferrite. Arickx is known for her expressionist sculptures exploring the body, nature, life and death.

It's an insult to the Holy Cross of Jesus Christ. The two souls looking at it are black too.

Women are unnamed disciples of Christ.
Women who knew Jesus were present at the baptism, feeding the five thousand, the Last Supper, and Pentecost, etc. They had to have been there witnessing beside men because of His open and inclusive teachings. Women proved their fearless commitment to Christ at the foot of the cross, at the tomb, and afterwards in service to the community as wise women apostles and disciples. Paul’s letters in particular yield strong historical evidence that the leadership roles of women were plentiful in the infant church. The artwork in the ancient catacombs appears to indicate that women took an active part in leadership in the early Church and also in the celebration of the Eucharist.

Father Ripperger is no longer allowed to appear in public.
Denver Archbishop James Golka ordered celebrity priest Fr. Chad Ripperger, 61, to cease all public ministry for one year, until September 2027, reports LifeSiteNews.com.
The command covers public appearances, online homilies, and writings. Talks already scheduled have been cancelled.
Fr. Ripperger was ordained in 1997 for the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP). He left the FSSP in 2012, began working as an exorcist, and built a following - his own priestly community (the Doloran Fathers). The community was received into the Archdiocese of Denver under the conservative Archbishop Samuel Aquila.
Leo XIV retired Monsignor Aquila in February and appointed Archbishop Golka as successor.
Fr. Ripperger, small in statue, is a learned and serious priest. His strong focus on the demonic can become sensationalist and egocentric. He lends undue certainty to speculative claims. His recent media appearances have included conversations …More

Leo XIV held a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today, three days after speaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Pope Leo XIV reiterated his appeal for a humanitarian truce to allow food and medical supplies to reach civilians in the Russian-occupied town of Oleshky, in Ukraine's Kherson region. According to UN estimates, around 1,700 people, including 47 children, remain trapped in Oleshky.
During his October 16 conversation with Putin, held from Rome's Gemelli Hospital while recovering from surgery, Leo XIV requested a humanitarian ceasefire. The Kremlin expressed willingness to cooperate with Vatican humanitarian efforts but made no ceasefire commitment.

‘Radically insufficient’ – Reply to Fr Crean on the Church’s visibility
‘Zero Marks’ – Why the Conciliar/Synodal Church is not the Catholic Church
‘Spotless and Unsullied’ – Indefectibility and the Extended Vacancy
Introduction

“All this leads a great number of people to ask themselves if the Church of today is really the same as that of yesterday, or if they have changed it for something else without telling people.”
Cardinal Ratzinger, 13 July 1988
Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger – later Benedict XVI — posed this question in the aftermath of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre’s 1988 episcopal consecrations for the Society of St Pius X.
In this conference, delivered to the bishops of Chile, Ratzinger argued that what Lefebvre had called the “Conciliar Church” was indeed the same Catholic Church which had preceded Vatican II.
In fact, the term “Conciliar Church” was Paul VI himself, and he …More
