Pope Leo XIV spoke during a Eucharist in St. Peter’s Basilica marking the opening of the 2026–2027 academic year for Rome’s Pontifical Universities.
He said: “In every age, there is no shortage of false teachers who exploit the religious sentiments of many believers for their own interests, often pushing them to radicalize certain aspects of the teaching they have received at the expense of the whole — the whole, which is Christ and his Gospel.”
Leo XIV then invented a Church’s responsibility for both “to safeguard” the revelation but also “to develop, within diverse contexts, a prayerful understanding of it”.

Pope Leo should then look to his own bishops, priests and cardinals who are radicalizing church teaching.

A 17-year-old Dutch girl was killed by euthanasia after doctors concluded that she was experiencing “unbearable and hopeless psychological suffering”.
Milou Verhoof died on 2 October 2023 after suffering from mental-health problems for years and undergoing repeated treatments. Her case was later examined by the Netherlands’ Regional Euthanasia Review Committees, which found that the doctor had complied with the country’s legal requirements for euthanasia.
Because Milou was 17, her parents had to be involved in the decision-making process, although Dutch law did not require their consent. Her parents ultimately supported her "decision".
The case later drew objections from fourteen doctors, mostly psychiatrists, who asked prosecutors to examine aspects of her euthanasia, including questions about her capacity to decide and possible influence from those around her.
The case returned to the Dutch courts in 2026 after Milou’s parents sought the identities of those critical doctors.

Parishioners in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, are mourning the loss of their long-time spiritual home after a fire tore through All Saints Orthodox Church Wednesday night.
The church was gutted by the blaze on September 30, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. No injuries were reported, and the cause remains under investigation.
“It is with tremendous sorrow that we inform you all that our beloved All Saints parish burned in a fire last night,” the church said in a statement.
“No one was hurt, for which we are immensely thankful.”

Canada's Allison Inquiry heard from 50 witnesses. All of them seriously injured in some way from the Covid-19 vaccine. There were 1,400 people who applied to speak. UK to allow bereavement leave for abortions despite claim fetus is just clump of cells
Previously, only parents who had lost a child under 18 or had a stillborn after 24 weeks had the legal right to bereavement leave.
The UK government has announced that it plans to give two weeks of unpaid bereavement leave to women who have abortions. The new rule will expand on bereavement leave, which was supposed to be for women who miscarried or lost a child in a stillbirth after 24 weeks.
