Priestly Ordinations for 'Heralds of the Gospel' Unblocked After Years of Suspension

The Heralds of the Gospel announced on April 5 in São Paulo that priestly ordinations will resume in April 2026, following a suspension in place since 2019.
31 acolytes will be ordained as deacons on April 11 and 26 deacons to the priesthood on April 12.
The ordinations concern members of the clerical society of apostolic life Virgo Flos Carmeli, which is associated with the Heralds of the Gospel.
The diaconal ordinations will be conferred by Fernando José Monteiro Guimarães, archbishop emeritus of the Military Ordinariate of Brazil. The priestly ordinations will be presided over by Raymundo Damasceno Assis, archbishop emeritus of Aparecida and Pontifical Commissioner.
Ordinations within the Heralds had been suspended following a Vatican intervention that began in 2017 and was reinforced in 2019 with the appointment of a Pontifical Commissioner.
During this period, candidates for ordination remained in a state of waiting, and no formal public accusations or clear timeline for resolution …More

The Resurrection of Christ: Further Along the Road to Emmaus — Beyond These Stone Walls

What are we to understand when we speak of the Resurrection of Jesus? Ancient Scriptures and interpretations from a brilliant theologian-pope provide amazing clues.
April 8, 2026 within the Octave of Easter
by Father Gordon MacRae with theological assistance from Pope Benedict XVI

Note: The following is Part 2 of our Holy Week post, “
The Darkness of the Cross Enlightened on the Road to Emmaus.”
In the above captioned post, we left you on the Road to Emmaus. Jesus of Nazareth had been accused of blasphemy by the Jewish Sanhedrin. He was handed over to the Roman Governor Pontius Pilate for judgment. He was placed on trial, convicted, mercilessly scourged and then crucified. Those who followed and believed in him were devastated and lost. Some had hoped to find in him the manifestation of the Kingdom of God. Some hoped for a messianic end to the tyranny of Rome and its occupation of Judea. Others hoped for redemption. All were left demoralized. All had come to ruin. This is where we left …

ZIONISM & IRAN: A Perspective from a Priest Raised in Iran
Fr. Christopher Basden draws on his Middle East upbringing to challenge mainstream narratives about Iran, Israel, and the push toward war. He argues that claims of imminent threats mirror past justifications like the Iraq War, while deeper conflicts over Palestine and geopolitical interests continue to fuel instability. The discussion highlights the human cost of war, including displacement, destruction, and the suffering of Christian communities. Criticism is directed at Western Church leaders for inconsistent responses to these crises. Despite the turmoil, Fr. Basden points to growing awareness and enduring faith as signs of hope.

The Black Legend of the 'Stolen Babies' in Spain Refuted

A forensic study has rejected long-standing claims of an organised network of 'stolen babies' in Spain during the second half of the 20th century.
Conducted by five forensic geneticists from the National Institute of Toxicology and Forensic Sciences (INTCF), the research was published in March.
What did the "narrative" claim?
The 'stolen babies' narrative, which gained widespread attention in the 2000s and 2010s, alleged that, during the Franco era and beyond (1950s–1990s), newborn babies were systematically taken from their parents in hospitals. Mothers were told their babies had died, while the children were allegedly given to other, regime-loyal families - sometimes for money.
The narrative described a coordinated network involving medical staff, hospital administrators and religious institutions, including Catholic institutions.
Advocacy groups and reports have claimed that up to 300,000 babies were stolen.
The first religious figure to be formally investigated was Sister María …More

Servant Of Divine Mercy

Fifth Day: Tuesday within the Octave of Easter:
Today bring to Me THE SOULS OF THOSE WHO HAVE SEPARATED THEMSELVES FROM MY CHURCH,* and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. During My bitter Passion they tore at My Body and Heart, that is, My Church. As they return to unity with the Church, My wounds heal and in this way they alleviate My Passion.

Day 5 of the Divine Mercy Novena

In the Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, Jesus asked that the Feast of Divine Mercy, known today as Divine Mercy Sunday, be preceded by a Novena to The Divine Mercy. A Novena is nine days of prayer in preparation for a feast. In the case of the Novena to Divine Mercy, we pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy each day for a specific intention. Those intentions are: all mankind, especially sinners; the souls of priests and religious; all devout and faithful souls; those who do not believe in God and those who do not yet know Jesus; the souls who have separated themselves from the Church; the meek and humble souls and the souls of little children; the souls who especially venerate and glorify His mercy; the souls detained in purgatory; and souls who have become lukewarm.
Our Lord told St. Faustina, "I desire that during these nine days you bring souls to the fountain of My mercy, that they may draw ... strength and refreshment and whatever grace they need in the hardships of life, and …

"Our task is to trust in him and to carry our cross"

by Libreria Editrice Vaticana, we post the short reflection for Wednesday in the Octave of Easter. Keep in mind that this is Easter Week and Easter season or Eastertide lasts until
Pentecost Sunday, that's 50 days.
Cyril and John of Jerusalem, Mystagogical Catecheses II, 5In the exchange of Christ for humanity, we only have to gain: his all for our nothing—who would not call that a bargain? Yes, it’s all strange and unimaginable, but who thinks they can know God’s plans? Perhaps we do, who do not even really know who we truly are? Our task is to trust in him and to carry our cross, always looking to him.
O strange and paradoxical thing! We are not truly dead, nor truly buried, nor truly crucified and risen, but imitation by image brings true salvation. Christ was truly crucified and truly buried, and he is truly risen. So many graces are lavished upon us because we imitate him by participating in his suffering, and true salvation is earned. O boundless mercy! Christ even received nails …

Leo XIV: Trump’s Threat to Iranian People Unacceptable

From Castel Gandolfo, Leo XIV issued a call for peace talking to journalists. The continuing escalation is not resolving anything: “It is only provoking more hatred throughout the world.”
Leo XIV urged consideration for civilians, saying: “I would like to invite everyone to think of the many innocent children, the elderly.”
Commenting on warnings of large-scale destruction, he said: “This is truly not acceptable. Here there are certainly questions of international law, but even more than this a question of morality for the good of people.”
Regarding military actions, Leo XIV added that attacks on civilian infrastructure are “a sign of the hatred and division that we are capable of.”

To assess the inner man Trump brokered peace between several warring nations. He reached out to Kim Jong II in his first administration and arrived at a truce. He honored Our Lady on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception with a beautiful statement, more so than did our national Bishop's conference. He always keeps everyone guessing, and I for one like it that way. It keeps the pressure on those who would do us harm.

For sure the American president is speaking like a mad mullah. Death to Iran as opposed to death to America. It's a form of dialogue that is familiar to the counterpart I expect. As to how this will shake out, it's hard to tell. Politics at that level is very convoluted. The weight of it is shuddering to contemplate. Iran is duty bound to follow just war theory too in relation to its own population as a matter of natural law.

Acts 3:11-26
Peter addressed the people after the healing of the crippled man: “You Israelites, why are you amazed at this?”
Peter is confident in his faith. He is beginning to evangelize.
Luke 24:35-48
“Why are you troubled?”
This astonishment means that they have not yet fully grasped the resurrection. But now they are witnesses to it.

CARDINALS FERNANDEZ, LADARIA, O’MALLEY, BISHOP LIBASCI AND FR. LAIRE LIKE CARDINAL RATZINGER, INTERPRET VATICAN COUNCIL II UNETHICALLY AND SCHISMATICALLY.

CARDINALS FERNANDEZ, LADARIA, O’MALLEY, BISHOP LIBASCI AND FR. LAIRE LIKE CARDINAL RATZINGER, INTERPRET VATICAN COUNCIL II UNETHICALLY AND SCHISMATICALLY.
The popes from Pius XII to Leo XIV have been in schism on a particular point. With Vatican Council II and the Catechism interpreted rationally they become Feeneyite traditionalists overnight. This is a secret they keep hidden.
Cardinals Burke, Sarah, and Bishop Athanasius Schneidrer would also become Feeneyite traditionalists when Ad Gentes 7 is aligned with EENS and LG 16 is not an explicit exception for AG 7 or EENS.

In 1965 when the excommunication of Fr.Leonard Feneey was still not lifted, Fr. Joseph Ratzinger did not announce that Lumen Gentium 16 in Vatican Council II was not an explicit exception for the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus (EENS) of the Council of Florence . The 1949 Letter of the Holy Office to the Archbishop’ of Boston confused implicit cases of the baptism of desire as being explicit examples of …More

Few people know that for years before he became pope, Robert Prevost met most Saturdays with Francis inside the Casa Santa Marta. And in the final weeks of his life, from a hospital bed at Gemelli, Francis elevated him to the highest rank of cardinal — the act that placed him at the center of the conclave that would soon elect him pope.

Pope Leo XIV teared up this morning.
Standing at the Apostolic window at the Vatican on Easter Monday, the American pope paused mid-sentence as he tried to describe the man who had summoned him from a small diocese on Peru’s northern coast and, in the final weeks of his life, made him one of the few cardinal bishops in the Catholic Church.
The man he was mourning was Pope Francis, who died on Easter Monday last year — April 21, 2025 — after twelve years of upending the Church and infuriating the powerful.
The official anniversary of his death falls in just over two weeks, but Leo will not be in Rome to mark it. He will be in Africa, on the second major papal voyage of his young pontificate, carrying the Gospel to a continent Francis loved and visited often.
So this morning’s tribute …

Don Curzio Nitoglia: Americanist Plot Against the Roman Church

PROLOGUE
After studying the figures of Peter Thiel and Samuel Atman and the role the former played in Rome, in March 2026, especially: 1st) in the conservative Catholic environment, linked to the traditional Mass, (only if normalized by the full acceptance of the Second Vatican Council and the perfect orthodoxy of the Novus Ordo Missae of 1969, in the “Ecclesia Dei” Institutes); 2nd) … Traditional Mass, which was positioned by Thiel within the framework of the “Katekon” (which according to him would be … himself …) to the Antichrist; that is, 3°) in a strange mixture (in the style of Benedict XVI's “hermeneutics of continuity”) of Apostolic Tradition (the Roman Mass, improperly called the Mass of St. Pius V), married not only to the modernism of Vatican II and the new Montinian Mass of 1969 (in “Ecclesia Dei adflicta”), but also to the highly advanced technology of Artificial Intelligence, of Palantir and the pantheistic philosophy of Yuval Noah Harari's Transhumanism.

Iranian villagers protect downed U.S. airman, while lefty Europeans root for his capture: Our allies are in Iran, not in Europe.

Iranian villagers protect downed U.S. airman, while lefty Europeans root for his capture

It's an upside-down world when Iranian villagers seek to protect U.S. servicemen from Iran's mullah regime, while our purported European allies root for his capture.
That really happened with the recent incident regarding a downed U.S. airman whose case for rescue was made that much more dangerous by a leaker on the U.S. side, who alerted the Iranian goons of his presence on Iranian soil and got them hunting for him.
But the news was not all bad. Something unexpected happened -- in a spontaneous gesture, the Iranian villagers rushed in to protect him from capture by the Revolutionary Guard goons who were looking for him to capture. It was not without risk -- some may die as a result with angry mullah goons now looking for them. But it was the price of freedom, a price they were willing to pay.
Reports confirm the downed F-15 pilot in Iran was sheltered by heroic villagers in Yasuj’s Kakan region before US Special Forces arrived.
