The case began formally in May 2020, when Cardinal Santos Abril y Castelló established a Special Penal Tribunal to examine allegations against Buela. After hearing the accused, his lawyer and numerous witnesses, the tribunal issued its judgment on 20 July 2021. It found that Buela had committed offences against the sixth commandment in relation to five male members of the Institute. Buela appealed. It was painted during the saint's lifetime, before he received the stigmata. This portrait of Saint Francis of Assisi is found in one of the caves of Subiaco. It seems marvelous to me! German theologian Hubert Windisch, a priest of the Diocese of Regensburg who dresses in civilian clothes, argues in a September article that the Church’s dramatic loss of substance has been driven above all by the “Bergoglian magisterium.” He describes several decisions as prone to heresy and even apostasy—from Abu Dhabi and Pachamama to Amoris laetitia and Fiducia supplicans. In his view, doctrinal clarity has been replaced by endless “pastoral processes”.
