Why Mary Is the Shortest Path to Jesus: Fr. Matthias & Fr. Bernard on Graces Waiting for You
"Mary is never an obstacle between us and Christ—she is the quickest, easiest, and surest route to His Sacred Heart." Father Matthias Sasko and Father Bernard Salter, FI, join CatholicTV to explain the life-changing gift of Marian consecration. What does it truly mean to give your entire life to Jesus through the hands of Mary? Stepping into the living room on This Is the Day from New Bedford, Massachusetts, Father Matthias Sasko and Father Bernard Salter of the Franciscans of the Immaculate unpack the spiritual charism of St. Maximilian Kolbe. The friars address common misconceptions about Marian devotion, showing that consecration is not Mary's or John's idea, but Christ’s direct command from the Cross: "Behold your mother." They explain what happens when we entrust ourselves to Mary as her personal "property and possession"—surrendering to her maternal authority so she can form us into the likeness of her Son and unlock an outpouring of divine grace. The friars also share accessible habits every Catholic can adopt right now, including displaying sacred images at home, praying the daily Rosary, and wearing the Miraculous Medal to claim the graces God has waiting for us. Key Highlights: -Continuing St. Maximilian Kolbe’s Mission: Using every licit, modern form of media—from books to YouTube—to make Our Lady known and loved. -The Heart of Consecration: Why becoming Mary's "property" is an act of filial obedience rooted at the foot of Calvary. -Formula vs. Substance: Why your inner decision of the will matters far more than which specific consecration prayer method you choose. -Unclaimed Graces: St. Catherine Labouré’s vision of the Miraculous Medal and why wearing it acts as a 24/7 prayer for heavenly aid. -Everyday Marian Living: Practical ways to weave the presence of Our Lady into daily family routines.
