The click is dying. Gloria.tv flourishes.

“Social media is becoming an increasingly urgent issue in communications,” Cardinal Marx of Munich - not exactly known for his Catholic convictions - observed on Monday.

Cardinal Marx added: “The media landscape is undergoing a profound transformation. We are witnessing a turning point.”

On that, he is right.

The old model of editorial, paternalistic media is fading. Users want a voice of their own. They increasingly consume headlines and news snippets directly in their feeds without ever clicking through.

We see it on Gloria.tv: about 90% of users never get beyond roughly 1,000 characters.

Gloria.tv has changed with the media landscape — into a social network. And it works: Gloria.tv ranks among the 10,000 largest websites worldwide on Cloudflare Radar.

But success doesn't pay the bills.

Our autumn fundraising goal is €10,000. That would give us breathing room until Advent.

For almost twenty years, Gloria.tv has been short of money. That, too, is part of our success. A small budget buys us a great deal of freedom. That freedom is made possible by you. Thank you.

You can donate by credit card or PayPal at: Kindful

Thank you so much for your help - and for keeping Gloria.tv online.

This looks like a staged photograph. If it is supposed to take place in Germany, why is the newspaper written in Italian?
