"Our mother, the Church, is going through an unprecedented time of trials. There is a hostility going up to the high ranks of the administrative power of the Church. And yet, in view of this situation, as true Catholics, we should not fall into an attitude of anger, bitterness and despondency. Through the current interior trials, the Church is being purified. Christ will overcome his enemies who managed to occupy influential positions within the Church. The faithful and the little ones in the Church pray day and night with the voice of the psalmist: 'Behold, the Protector of Israel will neither slumber nor sleep' — Psalm 121." — Bishop Athanasius Schneider speaking this evening at this year's Catholic Identity Conference in Pittsburgh.
