Well, the conclave continued as if nothing had happened! Except that, from that moment on, there was one absent: the Holy Spirit.

In fact, by accepting the new Pope's invalid resignation, since it was made under duress, the cardinals violated Pius XII's Apostolic Constitution, which stated that the conclave was now over since white smoke had been seen and his successor had been legitimately elected. By illegally continuing a conclave that no longer had any reason to exist, they drove away the Holy Spirit, and it was nothing more than a meeting of men who no longer had divine assistance: it was the beginning of the great Apostasy announced by Saint Paul, an Apostasy that will soon end with the unveiling of the Antichrist.
