Micromanaging the liturgy with malice... that's how I would describe him. In fact, I'm sure he's one of those liberal priests who find anything from the Church's tradition a microaggression! I vividly recall getting YELLED AT by a priest when serving because I had put the Host on a paten, instead of a glass dish. He accused me of "rejecting Vatican II" by this small action that I've done many times while preparing the altar as an acolyte.
