Amica Chips, an Italian food company that produces potato chips and snacks in Castiglione delle Stiviere, Italy, has released a promotional video in which a priest who has run out of hosts, serves potato chips to a crowd of nuns.
The video is considered by many to be blasphemous. However, it must be admitted that it has nothing to do with the Novus Ordo Church as it exists today.
The nuns are dressed like nuns, the priest is in a cassock, he is looking toward God, he is using a proper stole and chalice, he behaves very respectfully, he is putting the chips on the tongue, and there is decent music in the background.
In one sentence: Amica crisps are treated much better than the Body of Christ is treated in the average Novus Ordo Eucharist.

Yes, a blasphemy. That is why they have also used a traditional look.

Transubstantiation never took place. Wheat flour and water are the only substances that the bread can be made of, in the Latin rite.

@English Catholic - well said. I've never heard of these crisps but if I ever come across them, I'll boycott.

I couldn't boycott the cakes because I never ate them anyway - I hate that kind of processed junk food, but I wrote to them and complained. If my memory serves me right, I got a reply saying that many people had enjoyed the advert.

@English Catholic - I don't remember seeing that advert but I'll search for it on YouTube and lodge a report/complain.

@Patricia McKeever The advert is called 'Delivery' Mr. Kipling - Delivery (2003, UK) WARNING to anyone who would watch it - it is blasphemous. The advert is now 21 years old.

I wonder if they'd do a spoof ad in a mosque. Doubt it somehow . . . Catholics should boycott the product. I have boycotted UK products if I see a blasphemous advert, and written to let them know.
