Hl. Bona von Pisa - Gedenktag: am 29. Mai. Terziarin, Mystikerin * um 1156 in Pisa in Italien † 29. Mai (?) 1207 (oder 1208) daselbst Bona hatte seit ihrer Kindheit Erscheinungen. Sie wurde Tertiarin im Augustinerkloster ihrer Heimatstadt. Schon mit etwa 13 Jahren pilgerte sie ins Heilige Land, wo ihr Vater, der Bonas Mutter verlassen hatte, verheiratet war. Zu Beginn der Heimreise wurde sie von Sarazenen gefangengenommen und verwundet, aber wieder frei gelassen. Nach Pisa zurückgekehrt, erlangte sie wegen ihrer Mildtätigkeit, ihrer Gabe der Heilung und Weissagung hohes Ansehen. Weitere Pilgerreisen führten sie ungeachtet ihrer Krankheiten nach Rom, zur Jakobus-Wallfahrtsstätte nach Santiago de Compostela und zum Höhlenheiligtum des Erzengels Michael am Monte Gargano in Apulien. www.heiligenlexikon.de

Zahlreiche Geheimnisse ranken sich um die Tochter eines lothringischen Bauern, die 1431 als Ketzerin auf dem Scheiterhaufen in Rouen starb. Fünf Jahre nach der Hinrichtung erschien eine junge Frau, die behauptete, die Flammen überlebt zu haben und Jeanne d'Arc zu sein. Der Dokumentarfilm versucht, diesem Rätsel auf den Grund zu gehen.

May 29, 1242) Their story + These 11 martyrs were murdered during the night of May 28 to 29, 1242, in Avignot, Toulouse, France. + Representatives of the Inquisition working in southern France to oppose the Albigensian heresy, the martyrs were priests and brothers from three orders: the Dominicans, the Franciscans, and the Benedictines. + The church in which they died was placed under interdict and no sacraments could be celebrated there, as punishment for the murders. After the interdict was lifted, a large statue of the Blessed Virgin was found on the front steps of the church. Because no one knew where the statue came from or who sculpted it, the people took it as a sign that they had been forgiven. Both island and pier were covered with beautiful trees, but in the middle of the former stood one more magnificent than the others. It towered high over them as if guarding them. Its roots extended over the whole island as did also its branches, which were broad below and tapering to a point above. Its boughs were horizontal, and from them arose others like little trees. The leaves were fine, the fruit yellow and sessile in a leafy calyx like a budding rose. It was something like a cedar. I do not remember ever having seen Adam, Eve, or any animal near that tree on the island. But I saw beautiful noble-looking white birds and heard them singing in its branches.
